Report writing for comparison among companies' advertising&marketing strategies

Introduction

The main purpose of this report is to explore the success and failure from 5 different companies : (1) International education consultant (2) EduLitera (3) Education development trust (4) Duolingo (5) Education Management Solutions, so to analyse how they operate on LinkedIn platform, and also to improve the visibility of Y education from two main aspects - data analyzing and marketing.


The first aspect: Data analyzing

1. International education consultant (63 followers) has done a very bad example of a failed business in Linkedin:

· Boring logo

- This company used dark blue as their main colour of the logo

- The design consisted of 3 letters of their company name

- The logo is complicated

- Y Education used black and white as the colour of the logo, which builds up bright contrast

- It clearly shows the word ‘Y’ which is a good design to tell people our company name

- It is precise and simple

· Only posted images without video

- Video attract more engagement and response from the general public

- Y education should post video along with images/ article to interest the public


There are two good examples of a good profile of business:

1. EduLitera- Education consultant (2141 followers)

· Using different languages in the post

- More people will understand the content in the post

- As Y education targets Chinese-speaker and English-speaker, every post of Y education should come with Chinese and English

· Added emojis to every post

- Attract people’s attention

- Make the content more interesting

- It is recommended to add several emojis in every paragraph/ article posted in the social media

· Using precise wordings

- Clearer to main point

- Visitors of the page will immediately understand the content

- Make every paragraph short and precise

- Avoid to mention difficult and boring content in the social media


2. Education development trust (77391 followers)

· Used sharp colour in their logo

- Attract people’s attention

- Make people easier to remember their company’s name by using the first letter as the logo

- Y education has performed well in designing the logo

· Posted feedback and comments from their clients

- Y education can ask every student to share their experience or feedback of our service, it is more convincing

· Using mind map or image to highlight the key terms

- For example, using main map to explain the relationships of the role of school leaders

- Help readers to get familiar with the content quickly

- Y education can use more mind maps or graphs to present ideas

· Put hashtags and links

- Hashtag to increase visibility, links to navigate customers of our web content so they could have a comprehensive understanding of us

· Put a slogan in the cover page of Linkedin

- Design a slogan for Y education


The second aspect: Marketing

The main purpose users flock to LinkedIn is to enrich their lives as business professionals. Therefore, the purpose of this report is using B2B digital marketing to analyse how Duolingo (274,141 followers) and Education Management Solutions (5,175 followers) operate their business on LinkedIn.

· Analyse context (digital trends)

- Y education can put some investment in video marketing. Filming and releasing a video could maximize the interaction with customers

- For example, the president can film a video of introducing herself as well as the company's main goals. With a quality video it can reach new audiences with brand messages that are credible and interesting

· Strategics options

- Consider an option to reach our company’s goals

- For example, Duolingo and Education Management Solutions both have their own websites, Y education could create a website to make their platform more professional

- A mobile-friendly website is important to avoid losing potential customers because mobile is a crucial part of digital marketing today - more than 78% consumers made a purchase on their mobile device in 2016

· Gather feedback from employees

- We need to grasp the company’s operating dynamics in real time, make timely adjustments, and then optimize results

· Plan resources

- A plan b is important

- For example, if Y education company is not mature enough to film videos at the moment, then we could consider sharing some useful and informational posters - which mention the benefit of learning through Y education

- In addition, we could also add some useful keyword hashtags to help customers find your business on search engines. For example, #elarning #virtualtraining #language
